Kinglsey and I Together by Gary Martine

by Gary Martine on Mar.08, 2009, under Author Posts

It’s my distinct pleasure to be one included as one of the inaugural authors on MLR Press’ Author’s Blog.  That said, it is also my pleasure to announce that “Kingsley & I Together,” the second in the “Kingsley & I” series is currently in press and scheduled for release by MLR Press in March 2009.

“Kingsley & I” is the electrifyingly erotic love story of two men, one (Kingsley) gay, the other (I) hesitantly bisexual, that irrevocably dominates the rest of their lives. Yet, as the immortal Bard points out, “The course of true love never did run smooth.” Can it be any different for Kingsley & I? Convinced of, even overawed by the power of their erotic attraction for each other, they pledge themselves to each other, but pledging, no matter how passionate or sincere, is never quite the same as living together day-by-day.  In “Kingsley & I Together” readers will get to know more about the elusive Kingsley (”The King”), and “I” as their relationship continues to unfold. In this second book, the two take on the question, “What does it take to make an electrifyingly erotic relationship like their last?” and in the the course of answering the question, readers will come to know Kingsley and I more intimately than ever before.

Excerpt from “Kingsley & I Together“:  “What is it about Kingsley? Only a few days have passed since Kingsley and I spent our first three days and nights together as a couple. Reflecting, my thoughts return to when we first met, my first same-sex experience with him, the silver anklet he gave me as a token of our mutual love, our numerous passionate love-makings. All seem this moment like a beguiling flight of fantasy, as if, perhaps, they never occurred. Did they? I wonder, and, if they did, where is Kingsley now? Why hasn’t he called?”

Kingsley & I together explore friends, past lovers and family; continue their torrid sexual escapades “live” at a party and on a turnout along the Pacific Coast Highway; visit Kingsley very unusual family doctor and indulge themselves in wildly erotic “sex-art;”  and in the process discover new meaning to their relationship between themselves and the world – together.

I invite Kingsley & I fans and aficionados of erotic romance to peek back into I’s personal diary and to immerse into the achingly honest and intimate thoughts and actions of a man irrevocably in love.

Congrats on mastering the art of blogging. While I’ve yet to make my debut here, I’ve blogged (even plogged) elsewhere and, as often as not found, it all a tad daunting (if just because I’m such a computer illiterate).

You, though, have not only managed with the sometimes complicated formatting but have provided an interesting peek into your new book as well.

Needless to say, I’m now looking more forward to your second book of the Kingsley series even more than I already was.

Sounds very exciting, Gary. On a turnout on the Pacific Coast Highway? Oh, surely not…those naughty boys. Of course, this qualifies as accidental sex. It’s not premeditated unless they check into a motel room together. This in case your significant other accuses you of playing around. One can’t be held responsible for happenstance.

    Good job,

    Victor

I just love the titles, too. And the covers and the whole darn theme! :~D

    Ciao Gary

As I said before I really like Kinsley & I, so I’m really happy to have the chance to read more about this two characters. K&I is not a simple book, but it’s really original, and a book that left a deep impression in me. And it was also a nice surprise since I had no idea of what I was buying and it’s always a pleasure to realize that you spent your money in a very good way. Elisa

Hi, Gary! It looks like you’ve got the blogging down, and I only hope I’ll do so well when I take the plunge. The book looks great! :D

Thanks William, Victor and Jeanne for your comments – I feel honored to be a part of MLR Press and be writing alongside some of the great authors of our time. I’m serious – m/m erotic romance has not only a fast-growing readership and is rapidly becoming a sought-after bookstore genre, but has something incredibly important to offer a world reeling from unpecedented acts of terrorism and violence. What it offers is romance, eroticism, love and sex. Karmic balance. Creative relationships and rebirth to offset the rampant competitiveness and destruction surrounding us. I’m proud to be part of the m/m erotic romance movement and MLR Press. – Gary Martine

What can I say, but my heartfelt thanks to all of the authors, editors, reviewers and readers of m/m erotic romance who have been so supportive in bringing “Kingsley & I Together” to life. The first book, “Kingsley & I,” was a first true love work of feelings;” I hope you will find this second book in the series a passionate work of love and desire. – Gary Martine
