Well, my man, if there was a Lammie to be given for a blog, it would surely be given you for this one! --And pay no attention to those who insinuate Victor and I are merely icons being thrown bone(r)s. Certainly, Victor seems sure that the book didn't make the short list because of his short story. And I've never really claimed (at least to anyone but myself) that my "stuff" is great literature. Soooo, that either leaves you or J.P.'s work responsible for the nomination. Thank-you-very-much!! (StarTrek's Mr. Spock would be impressed by my sheer genius in "that" bit of logic). --In the end, I suspect it's one of those situations where the separate pieces are not nearly as award-deserving as the whole (notice I spell that with a "w"), it needing not one, not two, not three, but all four stories to put the book in the short-little line-up where it is. --So, let's all pat our backs, give each other congrats, drink the bubbly at our great-good fortune, and dance the light fantastic (except, I can't dance for shit). --William.
